Gear up for gaming glory with these killer accessories that won’t break the bank.
If you want to be a serious contender out there in the wild west of online gaming, you need way more than just a powerful desktop PC. Watch out, though, because you could easily end up spending way too much on the perfect setup. Using a price comparison service, like PriceSpy, you can actually save a fortune. Here’s my rundown of the best accessories available for your PC that will leave you with enough money to eat between rounds of Warzone.
Headset – SteelSeries Arctis 3
If you can’t hear the screams of your victims in crystal clear audio, or properly convey your smugness back, what’s even the point? The Arctis 3 is ever so slightly underwhelming in the bass department but, for the price, it’s just about the best headset out there. A must-have.
Monitor – HP 22x
You’d be lucky to find a decent gaming monitor for less than £200, so consider yourself lucky. At 21.5” this monitor isn’t the biggest but it performs reliably well. Also, available for as little £145, it’s a great option for anyone on a budget. Your bank balance is gonna look much better on this than anything else you could find, that’s for sure.
Mouse – Asus ROG Gladius
With mice, you could easily find something really, really, cheap and nasty but – trust me – it isn’t worth it. You wouldn’t bring a toothbrush to a swordfight. The Gladius is pretty agile and lightweight, but does everything you want it to and doesn’t cram too much into a small surface area. The best-rated in its price range by a country mile.
Keyboard – Xtrfy K4 RGB TKL
It looks great, it doesn’t make a sound, it’s robust, and every button press feels worthy of something powerful – perhaps even regal. As mechanical keyboards go, this spicy customer is as reliable as they come. What marks it out as special, though, is the wild backlighting on the keys. RGB keyboards aren’t rare, but they’re rarely this well put-together.
Good gear is the key to victory
Kit yourself out with the items above and you’ll be well-matched with anyone you’re likely to come across online – at least in terms of gear. Using price comparison services make sure that you don’t pay through the nose to be kitted out like a pro. If kids are still running rings around you on games they’re not even old enough to play, you might just be rubbish.
