The quality of mods can vary more than that of unreviewed Steam games, but there looks to be something very special about the Levitation mod for Half-Life: Alyx.
The trailer shows that the story focuses on a floating building which looks both intriguing and beguiling as a game concept.
The atmosphere of the trailer is the classic cocktail of light horror mixed with a shed-load of action. Locales featured are a clock tower and many tight, enclosed spaces, always ramping up the immersion.
The mod was developed as part of the official Steam community, so quality should be assured and from what we have seen so far, it looks like an impressively solid piece of work. The mod is reported to last 4-5 hours in duration.
A specific release date has not been announced, but it is slated for release this year.
The mod will be free for those who already own a copy of Half-Life: Alyx.
