We are getting closer and closer to the launch of this year’s edition of the classic NFL themed video game Madden NFL 22 and we are here for it all, the expectations, the hype, the stress of waiting, the excitement, all of it.
You could be a casual American football fan who might even like to bet on NFL games here or there or a diehard gaming enthusiast who understands the true magnitude that the Madden NFL franchise has in the world of sports-themed video games, still, I’m pretty sure that the level of excitement for the new title in the Madden franchise is exciting for us all.
While we wait for the final unveiling of the game, here are 3 facts about it that all fans should know before getting the game.
The “99 Club” Is Only 5 Players Strong This Season
As soon as the Madden 22 player ratings started coming out, especially after the new “99 Club ” members were announced, you know that fireworks started going off all around, especially with some players not thinking they received a fair rating. I get it, for me personally guys like Bills QB Josh Allen and also Bills WR Stefon Diggs deserved a better grade, as well as the fact that there are no linebackers with a 99 score even if there are some top rated candidates on the list. But, at the end of the day, in all honesty, opinions are like drops of water, if you add enough of them and let them do their thing a disaster might end up happening, so let’s just let the ratings be what they are for now.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce are joined by Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey and defensive end Aaron Donald and Packers wide receiver Davante Adams as the only five players to make it into the “99 Club”, also known by some as the most exclusive video gaming related club in the world of sports video games. For now, we’ll have to wait for both the game and the season to come out to see if a change in ratings occurs, because justice needs to be made for some players here.
There Are Promises Of Madden’s Franchise Mode Improving
If you know about Madden enough, not even being a diehard fan, but just know enough about the game, you probably know about how much of an issue this game had last year with its “Franchise” mode. Apparently, all of the ruckus caused by fans who were not even the least bit satisfied with what this mode of the game offered was enough to make EA Sports pledge and promise to make some much-needed upgrades to this part of the game, which if done right can become one of the best assets of the title.
While changes are not to be expected by the time of the official launch of the game, it is expected that significant changes will happen after the launch, especially with the Franchise mode scouting tool. While the changes will not make it resemble NBA 2K’s MyNBA, which in my opinion, and general opinion as well, is one of the best franchise modes in all of sports video games, after what fans got in 2021, any improvement for the Madden 22 edition will be more than welcome.
Home Field Advantage Will Become More Significant
In the hopes of making the new Madden NFL edition even more lifelike, one of the upgraded features that the game will offer fans is the chance to be able to actually feel what it’s like to have a home-field advantage. In real life, home-field advantage is one of the biggest tools that different NFL teams use to beat their opponents.
Be it for example how cold it can get in Green Bay, something that the Packers are used to but their opponents suffer. How about the altitude factor in Denver, which the Broncos don’t mind but make other teams end up looking for oxygen tanks to make it out of there in one piece. And what about how loud the fans can get in Seattle and Kansas City where it feels like the only way you can get a word in down in the field and actually be heard is if telepathic communication was allowed. Madden NFL 22 will offer fans the chance to have those factors play a part in the game, adding higher levels of difficulty and competitiveness to it, which automatically means, even more reasons for fans to get hooked on the action.
