GTA 6 Reveal Trailer Confirmed For December

Christmas is coming early! Rockstar Games has officially announced the upcoming release of the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, scheduled for early December. This confirmation comes on the heels of a recent Bloomberg report speculating that Rockstar was poised to make a formal announcement about GTA 6.

In a statement from Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser, it was revealed that the trailer will be unveiled next month, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games.

Houser thanked players worldwide for their unwavering support and emphasized the company’s dedication to creating culturally significant games.

Houser said: “In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution.”

Miami Vice Twice?

The anticipation for GTA 6 has been fueled by earlier reports suggesting the game will be set in a modern-day Vice City, the fictional counterpart to Miami, featuring a dynamic duo of playable protagonists.

These details emerged from a different Bloomberg report that hinted at post-launch expansions to the game’s map, a strategy to minimise developer crunch.

While the official announcement is limited to the release window for the trailer, there is speculation about potential additional details that Rockstar may reveal later this week.

Hack has not stalled progress with the game

Initial details about Grand Theft Auto 6 emerged on the internet last year following a significant hack suffered by Rockstar. The breach resulted in a substantial collection of work-in-progress assets being shared online in all their partially finished glory.

Despite the frustration surrounding the leak, Rockstar has assured gamers that it would not hinder the game’s release window.

Following the hack, a British teenager was arrested and accused of orchestrating the security breach. The annoying adolescent was later deemed “unfit to stand trial“. Whatever that means.

The company has assured investors to anticipate a prosperous year in 2024, the most significant indication yet of a 2024 release date. The anticipation for GTA 6 couldn’t be higher. Let’s hope it delivers, both gameplaywise and technically.
