We are approaching the golden age of indie games as the meek are truly inheriting the earth. First off, it was recently announced that internet darling influencer Markiplier will be making Iron Lung into a movie.
This news came completely out of the blue and if it wasn’t enough to convince you that indie games are taking over not just our computer but TV screens, today another announcement shook the gaming world.
Luca Galante, the one man sensation behind the game, announced on Steam and Deadline that Vampire Survivors will receive its own TV show.
Luca humbly states that: “Because we’re a small company and barely have any idea about how to make games, not to mention TV shows, we are partnering up with a company called Story Kitchen (their team includes Derek Kolstad, who is the writer/creator of John Wick, and Dmitri M. Johnson, who produced the Sonic films) to make the Vampire Survivors show.”
Luca also mentions that the story has always been a big part of VS, which we aren’t sure we agree with when it comes to a game where you mindlessly slaughter countles scores of monsters.
However, we are excited to see this show when it’s out. We are thinking something like Netflix’s Castlevania anime series but more skewed toward not taking itself too seriously. But only time will tell!
So grab your garlic and get ready. It will soon be time to watch Vampire Survivors while you play Vampire Survivors so you can VS while you VS for double the blood and double the fun!
