Preview: Moo Lander

Moooooove over, Hollow Knight!

There is a new action-adventure 2D platformer in town and its name is Moo Lander. It doesn’t take itself seriously, all its art is hand-drawn and is bat shit zany!

We have never seen a game quite like this before. These days, many devs of 2D platformers are eager to plaster cash-grabbing genres Metroidvania and Souls-Like onto their products. Not Moo Lander.

Moo Lander is a game created by passionate people who love games and love taking the piss out of a genre as much as possible.

Milking the art of parody for all it’s got

Players take on the role of an alien from a planet who is in search of milk to re-supply his war-torn planet. No plot tropes here!

Around every corner is udderly inexhaustible amounts of humour and surprises. From the variety of cow enemies to the plethora of alien flora and fauna, all out to attack you at every turn, everything feels fresh and new.

And within this, there are always subtle pieces of commentary on the state of Metroidvania games in today’s game landscape.

The devs of Moo Lander, The Sixth Hammer, seem to feel that 2D platformer games could do with a bit of a strong hind-leg kick up the arse. And with the glut of mediocre games of this nature on the market, we have all been aching for something like Moo Lander to trot along.

Moo Lander will be available 27th May on Steam.
